Compression Molding for Structural Rubber-Metal Components

ILPEA uses compression molding to produce large rubber-metal components for the construction sector, including bridge joints, bearings, and seismic isolators.

Compression Molding Orcenico

The process involves bonding layers of calendered rubber and specially treated metal sheets by using tailor made compression molds.

ILPEA primarily works with vulcanized rubbers such as SBR, NR, CR, manufacturing bridge joints, bearings, seismic isolators, and various sealing and damping components.

FAQ

1. Which are the main applications of compession molding technology?

Compression molding is used to produce solid, resistant rubber-metal components. Thanks to its high capacity molds ILPEA can produce large dimesnion rubber components finding application in the building and infrastructure segment that require solid, stable and heat resistant solutions. ILPEA manufactures both rubber components like marine fenders both ruber-metal components like LDB & HDBR seismic isolators.

Orcenico, in north-east Italy is the plant dedicated to rubber processing. Being close to major univeristy and testing labs ILPEA can easily produce and test large rubber components that are tested and certified according to AASHTO M251, EN 1337/3, EN 15129.
