1. Does ILPEA only extrude standard profiles?
No, ILPEA performs automated extrusion of TPE, PVC, PP and PE components, manufacturing both standard and highly customised profiles. Compared with other manufacturing processes, extrusion offers great flexibility in creating components with complex geometries and consistent dimensions. Thanks to its in-house tooling capabilities, ILPEA can design and manufacture customised extrusion heads and dies to meet specific customer requisites.
2. What are the key advanatges of extruded plastic and rubber components?
Extrusion enables the continuous production of gaskets, tubes and profiles with consistent geometries and precise dimensions, reducing the need for additional processing or assembly. It ensures uniformity throughout the component, including cross-section, diameter and wall thickness. Plastics and elastomers are particularly well suited to extrusion and can be processed individually or combined with other elements, such as magnetic profiles, metal inserts or copper wires.
